Volunteers
Needed
NPGA
is
currently
advertising
two
positions:
the
Youth
Committee
Chair’s
3-year
term
is
up,
and
the
Merchandise
Department
Head
is
leaving
the
position.
Chair
Eleanor
Zarski
of
the
Youth
Committee
is
eligible
for
reappointment
but
our
rules
require
the
position
to
be
advertised
for
other
interested
volunteers
to
apply.
I
would
like
to
take
this
opportunity

and
Jim
Huber
for
their
hard
work
and
dedication
over
the
past
several
years.
They
both
have
done
a
superb
job,
always
going
above
and
beyond
to
assure
that
all
the
needs
of
NPGA
have
been
met.

Merchandise
Department
Head:
Interested
in
promoting
NPGA?
What
better
way
than
to
handle
NPGA’s
merchandise?
You
will
be
able
assure
that
all
members
have
the
latest
and
necessary
information,
clothing
and
accessories
for
all
their
pygmy
goat
needs!
NPGA
is
seeking
qualified
candidates/members
that
are
willing
to
dedicate
selling
merchandise
from
their
homes
and
shows
throughout
the
year.
Appointed
chair
will
also
gain
15%
of
sales
each
year!!!
This
is
an
Independent
Contractor
position
that
will
provide
services
pursuant
to
an
Independent
Contractor
Agreement
with
NPGA.
Job
Description:
·
Keeps
informed
of
suppliers
who
can
provide
the
best
merchandise
at
the
best
price
for
NPGA
to
sell,
and
is
constantly
looking
for
new
products
to
replace
or
add
to
old
items.
·
Fills
orders
from
clubs
or
individuals,
mailing
them
out
in
a
timely
manner
by
UPS
or
USPS
(including
both,
shows
and
wholesale
kits,
as
well
as
NPGA
Publications.)
·
Obtains
and
keeps
in
supply
all
items
needed
for
mailing
orders.
·
Keeps
a
log
of
merchandise,
both
on
hand
and
out-going.
·
Maintains
a
Merchandise
Bank
Account
and
checkbook,
with
the
Business
Manager,
President
or
Treasurer
as
co-signer
on
checks
over
$3000.00.
·
Prepares
a
variety
of
quarterly,
semi-annual
and
annual
reports
to
various
NPGA
officials,
as
prescribed
in
the
Merchandise
Department
Head
job
description.
Youth
Committee
Chair:
This
is
a
very
rewarding
and
extremely
valuable
position
within
NPGA.
Let’s
recognize
and
acknowledge
the
INFLUENCE
of
the
youth
members.
Let’s
keep
the
kids
involved,
as
they
are
the
future
of
NPGA.
Job
Description:
1.
Is
responsible
for
forming
a
committee
of
interested
NPGA
members,
both
adult
and
youth,
from
different
geographic
areas
of
the
country.
2.
Represents
and
expresses
the
views,
needs,
opinions
and
wishes
of
4-H,
FFA
and
youth
members
to
the
Board.
3.
Is
responsible
for
creating
and
implementing
NPGA
programs
and
materials
to
be
used
by
4-H,
FFA
and
youth
groups.
4.
Tries
to
coordinate
NPGA
Rules
with
the
requirements
of
4-H
and
FFA
programs.
5.
Maintains
an
open
line
of
communication
with
the
4-H
and
FFA
national
officers,
program
leaders
and
members,
and
encourages
the
acceptance
of
the
Pygmy
goat
as
an
official
project.
6.
Acts
as
liaison
between
the
4-H/FFA/Youth
community
and
the
MEMO
Editor.
7.
Writes
an
article
for
MEMO
at
least
once
a
year.
Requirements
1.
Must
be
a
member
in
good
standing.
